4 Common Lawn Care Mistakes You Don’t Want to Make

Are you a lawn care pro? If not, and you need a little help mastering your yard, we have put together 4 of the most common lawn care mistakes you will want to avoid making!

1. Too much water: Your lawn needs water, but there is such a thing as over-watering. If your lawn gets too much water, the roots can drown and die. The soil and under the grass needs oxygen as much as it needs water. If there is too much water, there is no room for oxygen!

2. Mowing too low: A good rule of thumb is to never cut more than 1/3rd of the grass length at once. This can be traumatic to its photosynthesizing ability. It’s a good idea to let your grass grow a little longer in the spring and summer to allow the grass to shade the soil and roots better during the hot temperatures.

3. Wrong type of grass: You could be having problems with your grass if you don’t have the right kind of grass in the first place. Different types of grass require certain types of soil, specific amounts of sunlight and the right environment. If you are having a hard time with your grass, make sure you have the right kind of grass for where you live.

4. Pesticide use: Pesticides can cause problems when they are not applied by professional pest control professionals. If you are using pesticides, make sure you are reading the instructions carefully so you don’t intentionally harm your lawn.
